Full Time OHS/QA/Environmental Compliance Assistant— Lahey Constructions

In Brief: :Ideally the person would :

  • have a trade back ground (a little life experience);  

  • have completed their Grad Cert or Grad Dip in OHS;

  • have any interest in building construction

  • be happy living on the north coast of NSW and

  • able to travel approx two days (1 overnight) per week.


Lahey Constructions currently have 12 projects on the go, and have the following accreditations :

  • Triple certificate (9001, 4801, 4001;

  • NSW Department of Commerce Best Practice Approval (Preferred Contractor Status for Projects up to 25m);

  • (DEEWR) Australian Government Implementation Guidelines

  • (DEEWR) Australian Government OHS Accreditation (Office of the Federal Safety Commissioner)


We have an electronic Integrated Management System (IMS) which integrates all systems in line with Project Management, etc.   All sites work of the main server which assists with timely communication. The directors recognized that systemizing the business is the way of the future.

Lahey have been in the business since 1952, and worked for NSW public works since 1980.

GTSS specialise in providing OHS&E management solutions and advice for companies primarily involved in the construction industry. GTSS are current looking to employ a new OHS&E consultant on a full time basis.

The successful applicant will be required to preparation of OHS&E Management Systems or review and up-date client’s current management systems; undertake site inspections of construction sites and prepare written reports; prepare and deliver training; and other duties as requested by the client and GTSS management.

Candidates must have tertiary qualifications in OHS&E, experience in OHS&E management in the construction industry (3 years minimum), training experience and qualifications; current drivers licence and a willingness to travel as current work involves travel through NSW, QLD & VIC.

QSA Auditor qualifications will be viewed favourably. Depending on current experience and qualifications GTSS will also consider payments for any further training that you may require for the role.
