Though rare as hen's teeth typically, here's a stellar opportunity to put your safety studies into practice! OneSteel invites talented, motivated and career-oriented students to spend the summer with us, supporting our Distribution business based at St Leonards, Sydney, with a range of OHS tasks. You'll be joining one of Australia’s leading businesses, with diverse operations across industries like mining and manufacturing. Running from December 2009 – February 2010, our Vacation Work Program provides the opportunity to apply your degree studies in a real job, with real outcomes. You will undertaking a range of duties that help keep our team safe, whilst experiencing what it takes to work with a top ASX-listed company and enjoying the stimulating and supportive OneSteel culture. Many of our vacation work students prove their potential and go on to join us in graduate roles. To apply, you'll need to be undertaking or recently graduated from degree studies (at the undergraduate or postgraduate level) relevant to safety & OHS. You'll have a strong personal commitment to safe behaviour in the workplace; and have demonstrated through casual work or extra-curricula activities the ability to drive projects to completion. A team player, you'll be confident communicating with a diverse range of people. You'll be preparing reports and working with data so a keen eye for detail is a must. You only get one summer break.
