- understand occupational health concepts and language sufficient to be able to communicate effectively with occupational health and safety professionals.
- understand environmental management concepts and language sufficient to be able to communicate effectively with environmental management professionals.
- develop an appreciation of the inter-relationships of workplace hazards and risks, health, and injury, disease and mortality.
- analyse issues of occupational health and safety that are of relevance to the student's background or work experience.
