| Description : | In on campus mode, this course runs as lectures and web delivery.
This course discusses risk management as a means of maximising opportunity and minimising loss and as an aid to making management decisions in a climate of uncertainty. The lectures follow the sequence of the steps of the risk management process as outlined in the Australian Standard for Risk Management (AS4360). Tools and techniques applicable to each step of the risk management process are applied to a range of issues and risks including, project management, introducing new technology, IT, outsourcing, liability, safety, and the environment. This course is relevant as part of a wide variety of programs and students from any program are accepted. Students select examples for exercises and a case study assignment to suit the industry and role in which they work or hope to work. | | | | | Objectives : | At the end of this course students should be able to:

- Discuss means of implementing a risk management culture and processes into an organisation.
- Apply the risk management process to specific decisions which must be made or to specific risks with which an organisation is faced.
