Description : This course provides a background to the underlying principles of toxicology. It provides an introduction to chemical, biochemical and cellular principles. The course is aimed at students who have not previously studied chemistry or biology.
  
Objectives :

After completing this course, students should:

  • Understand concepts of chemistry, such as the atomic theory, elements and molecules, the periodic table, chemical reactions and equilibria.
  • Understand concepts of biochemistry, such as monomer units of macromolecules, protein synthesis, enzymes, biotransformation.
  
Reading : Any reasonable Chemistry and/or Biochemistry textbook.
