| Description : | Chemicals legislation, the dangerous goods system, the hazardous substances regulation, systems for management of hazardous wastes and systems for the management of chemicals in the workplace. | | | | | Objectives : | After completing this subject, students should:
- be able to understand and use principles of regulatory toxicology, sufficient to be able to communicate effectively with safety, chemistry and toxicology professionals;
- have a basic understanding of the principles and scope of significant chemicals control legislation;
- identify and assess systems for compliance with chemicals control legislation;
- be able to carry out a chemical safety audit for compliance with relevant legislation;
- identify best practice and develop systems for the management of chemicals and hazardous wastes at work.
